Settings
Open Settings from Gantry - Settings (or ⌘,). Settings are divided into Appearance and Privacy sections.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Viewport Background
Section titled “Viewport Background”Controls the solid colour shown behind the model when Use Environment as Background is off in the environment picker.
- Adapt to system appearance — Gantry automatically uses a light background in Light Mode and a dark background in Dark Mode.
- When disabled, separate colour pickers for Dark and Light modes let you choose exact colours for each appearance.
The reference grid helps with scale and alignment assessment in the viewport.
- Show grid in viewport — Toggles the grid on or off globally. This applies to all windows.
- Adapt to system appearance — When enabled, Gantry automatically chooses grid colours that match your Light or Dark mode setting.
- When appearance adaptation is off, you can set independent colours for:
- Major grid lines — The primary, less-frequent lines that mark larger intervals
- Minor grid lines — The denser subdivision lines between major lines
Both major and minor lines have separate colour pickers for Light Mode and Dark Mode.
